Galloway Jefcoat, LLP, a fast paced personal injury law firm in Lafayette, Louisiana, is seeking a responsible, reliable and experienced paralegal with 3 years or more plaintiff legal experience.
Must haves include:
·possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities;
·excellent and impressive computer skills needed to regularly use different applications to organize information and input data;
·must possess excellent understanding of legal procedures and terminology;
·conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles;
·summarize depositions;
·obtain and organize evidence for hearings and trials;
·good communication skills and be well-versed in documentation and reporting;
·draft and proofread correspondence and legal pleadings such as deposition notices, trial exhibits, etc.;
·experience in scheduling appointments, meetings and depositions;
·file exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court and/or opposing counsel;
·maintain/organize/scan litigation files;
·excellent time management skills;
·proficient in legal software programs;
·proficient in Word;
·excellent grammar and spelling skills;
·posting/calendaring prescriptions, deadlines, trial dates, etc.;
·possess strong communication skills;
·professional and friendly personality;
·the ability to get along with co-workers and clients;
·the ability to complete tasks efficiently and competently with minimal supervision; and reliable transportation.

·Monday through Thursday - 8:00am - 5:00pm
·Friday - 8:00am - 4:00pm

·Personal injury law: 3 years (Required)
