Payroll Analyst

Swoon is hiring a Payroll Analyst for our global SaaS/Technology client and this will be a fully remote role. It is also a part-time opportunity with approximately 20 hours a week.

Contract Duration: Approximately 3 months

Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to provide hands-on support for U.S. payroll processing, payroll research, and special projects. This individual will help manage day-to-day payroll activities while researching and resolving inquiries from internal partners across Tax, HR, Accounting, Benefits, and Compensation.

Responsibilities

• Support processing and execution of multi-state U.S. payroll.
• Research and resolve payroll-related questions and issues from employees, managers, and internal business partners.
• Assist with state, SUI, and local payroll tax registrations and maintain applicable tax jurisdictions within the payroll system.
• Research and validate state income tax and unemployment insurance rates using state and local government resources.
• Support Workday Time & Attendance and assist with timesheet processing for hourly and salaried non-exempt employees as needed.
• Work with third-party payroll and tax vendors to research tax notices, balances due, and state payroll tax account discrepancies.
• Gather payroll data and supporting documentation for audits and other ad hoc requests.
• Assist with payroll-related audits, including 401(k), workers' compensation, and multi-jurisdictional tax audits.
• Independently research payroll discrepancies and recommend solutions based on payroll regulations and best practices.
• Support integrations and data flow between HR and payroll systems, including identifying and resolving missing or inaccurate information.
• Partner closely with HR/People Operations, Benefits, Compensation, Tax, and Accounting teams.
• Document payroll processes, changes, and procedures.
• Support special projects, reporting, research, and ad hoc payroll analysis as needed.
