The Acadiana Advocate is seeking an education reporter to cover K-12 and higher education, with a focus on school policy, student performance, funding and quality of life issues for students and families in Lafayette Parish.
This beat requires a mix of quick-paced daily coverage, features and longer-term enterprise reporting. We're looking for a journalist with a proven ability to break news and develop original stories in a competitive environment. Experience covering education is preferred but not required.
The ideal candidate is a clear, engaging writer who understands the needs of readers and can balance timely reporting with deeper, accountability-driven work. This reporter should be equally comfortable covering day-to-day developments and pursuing impactful enterprise stories.
