Security Officer - Adult Education Facilities | $14/hr | Abbeville & New Iberia, LA
We're hiring full-time Security Officers for adult education facilities in Abbeville and New Iberia. If you're dependable, professional, and enjoy providing outstanding customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
These positions focus on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for staff, students, and authorized visitors through access control, patrols, and professional communication.
Pay: $14.00/hr (Weekly Pay)
Available Positions
Abbeville
- Monday-Friday
- 7:00am-5:00pm (includes a 2-hour lunch break)
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Primarily Monday-Thursday: 3:45pm-10:00pm
- Fridays: 6:30am-5:30pm
- Approximately 35-40 hours per week
- Schedule may adjust based on special classes and operational coverage needs, with occasional shifts extending until 12:00am
- Monitor entrances and access control
- Conduct indoor and outdoor patrols
- Monitor cameras and report suspicious activity
- Welcome and assist staff, students, and authorized visitors
- Approach individuals professionally to answer questions, provide direction, or address policy concerns
- Help de-escalate conflicts using effective communication and sound judgment
- Respond to incidents and complete detailed electronic reports (no paper documentation)
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, proof of current vehicle insurance, and a clean driving record
- Personal vehicle must remain on-site during your shift for travel between nearby facility buildings
- Pass background check and drug screen
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years old (as required by applicable laws)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and observation skills
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for reporting (no paper documentation)
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform regular indoor and outdoor patrols
- Professional appearance, dependable attendance, and flexibility to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments
- Friendly, professional, and approachable
- Calm, neutral, and confident when handling emotionally charged situations
- Comfortable approaching people and enforcing policies respectfully
- Excellent judgment, reliability, and ability to work independently
