Job DescriptionReceive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses.Direct inbound and outbound telephone calls to appropriate departments, internal and external.nnDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.nnAssists ground and/or air resources for emergency and non-emergency responses.nCoordinates first responder notification of fire departments and other agencies as requried.nReceives and keypunches requests for ground and air response.nDocuments daily activity.nProvides pre-arrival instructions using EMD.nTrains new Communication Center employees as requested.nnnThese duties, responsibilities, requirements, and conditions are not intended to be all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties, responsibilities, requirements and conditions.nnQUALIFICATIONS:nnHigh School Diploma or GED.nNational and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (preferred); as determined by appropriate state requirements; but not always necessary depending on experience, etc.nnnINTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:nnMaintain social, ethical and organizational norms.nAchieve accomplishment of all task details, no matter how small.nMaintain good personal motivation; develop a sense of ownership of job tasks and results.nMust have a sense of urgency for all work performed.nMust maintain professionalism and respect with patients, co-workers, emergency service providers, healthcare workers and the general public.nnnn All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.nnnn
