Minimum Qualifications

Six years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties And Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Supervises and mentors a team of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure accurate and timely eligibility determinations.
  • Reviews and approves Medicaid eligibility decisions, authorizations, and case actions while ensuring compliance with federal regulations, state laws, and agency policies.
  • Monitors staff productivity, quality, and performance metrics by conducting case reviews, analyzing error trends, and implementing corrective actions to improve program outcomes.
  • Recruits, hires, develops, and evaluates staff; manages performance, time and attendance, and personnel actions in accordance with Civil Service Rules and applicable policies.
  • Plans, assigns, and coordinates daily work activities, establishes priorities, and leads team meetings to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborates with leadership, government agencies, providers, and community stakeholders to resolve complex issues, promote outreach efforts, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in special projects, policy development, system enhancements, emergency response activities, and performs other duties as assigned in support of Eligibility Field Operations and the Louisiana Medicaid Program.
