Description

US Heart and Vascular is needing a Lead Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Cardiology Specialist of Acadiana in Lafayette LA.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Trains, leads, directs front office staff, including intake, checkout, phone operators, referrals, and medical records staff members
  • Monitors productivity and efficiency of staff and workflows
  • Fosters an environment of responsiveness to patient & physician needs; provides leadership.
  • Maintains positive and effective communication
  • Partners with Office Manager and Director of Operations in all employee administration issues
Position Requirements:
  • Fosters a positive working environment that is responsive to patient and employee needs.
  • Trains and directs front office staff in efficient and effective intake policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates within team, department, interdepartmentally and supervisor with ideas, issues, and resolutions.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with peers for continuity and efficiency in workflows.
  • Maintains accurately documented policies and procedures.
  • Privately answers and responds to any patient questions and/or concerns.
  • Maintains an orderly and clean office and patient lobby.
  • Maintains and re-stocks office supplies; notify appropriate personnel of inventory for purchasing.
  • Perform any other services deemed reasonable by physician or manager
  • Maintains open and timely communication with all clinical staff on all prior authorization issues
  • Maintains a friendly and professional manner with coworkers, patients, insurance carriers, etc.
  • Communicate with patient regarding insurance problems and authorization delays, rescheduling patient if necessary
  • Utilizes patient scheduling and chart software in proficient manner.
  • Follow confidentiality and security rules when providing patient information; follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and participate in safety programs
  • Perform any other services deemed reasonable by physician or supervisor
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years' experience with insurance in a medical office or other healthcare setting.
  • Able to multi-task in fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented.
  • Is well-organized; demonstrate moderate computer skills, utilize proper telephone etiquette.
