Job Description Job Description Hybrid Intake Coordinator / PLPC PositionHCO Behavioral Health Services – Lafayette, LouisianaHCO Behavioral Health Services is currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC, PLMFT, LMSW, or CSW) for a unique hybrid role combining Intake Coordination, Client Eligibility & Referral Management, and Direct Counseling Services within our Lafayette office.This role is ideal for an emerging behavioral health professional seeking to strengthen both their clinical counseling experience and behavioral health operations/administrative leadership skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.The selected candidate will serve as a key point of contact for new clients entering services while also maintaining an active counseling caseload through outpatient therapy services.Position TypeHybrid Administrative + Clinical RoleOffice-Based Position – Lafayette, LAFull-Time or Part-Time Opportunity AvailableMinimum Availability: 20 Hours WeeklyPosition OverviewThis position will divide responsibilities between:Intake Coordination & Administrative OperationsThe Intake Coordinator portion of this role will focus on supporting the onboarding and intake process for clients seeking behavioral health services. Responsibilities include handling referrals, insurance verification, scheduling, eligibility checks, documentation, and client communication.Clinical Counseling ServicesThe clinical component of this role will involve providing outpatient counseling services to individuals and families while maintaining timely and compliant clinical documentation.This position offers an excellent opportunity for a provisional licensed professional who desires exposure to both the operational and clinical side of behavioral health services.Key ResponsibilitiesIntake Coordination & Administrative Duties (In-Office)Serve as the first point of contact for new and returning clientsManage incoming phone calls, voicemails, emails, and in-person inquiriesCollect and process intake paperwork and onboarding documentationVerify insurance eligibility and benefits, including Medicaid and commercial plansSchedule assessments, therapy sessions, and follow-up appointmentsCoordinate referrals and assist with assigning clients to appropriate providers/servicesMaintain accurate client records and documentation within the EHR system (Notenetic)Assist with referral tracking, intake reports, and service logsFollow up regarding missing documentation, insurance issues, and intake concernsCollaborate with clinicians, supervisors, and leadership to ensure smooth client transitionsProvide front desk support and administrative assistance as neededSupport clients through the intake process until assignment to a long-term providerClinical Counseling ResponsibilitiesProvide outpatient counseling services to individuals, adolescents, and familiesConduct therapeutic sessions virtually and/or in-officeMaintain a consistent caseload while delivering compassionate, evidence-based careComplete progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical documentation in a timely mannerParticipate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and trainingsIdentify client needs and coordinate referrals to additional internal or external resources as appropriateMaintain compliance with all ethical, documentation, and confidentiality standardsQualificationsRequired:Must hold provisional licensure in Louisiana as one of the following: PLPCPLMFTLMSWCSWStrong communication, organization, and multitasking abilitiesAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a healthcare environmentComfortable working in both administrative and clinical capacitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentMinimum availability of 20 hours weeklyPreferred:Previous experience in behavioral health, counseling, case management, intake coordination, or healthcare administrationExperience verifying insurance eligibility and benefitsFamiliarity with EHR systems such as NoteneticExperience working with Medicaid populationsWhat We OfferOpportunity to gain both clinical and operational behavioral health experienceSupportive and team-oriented work environmentClinical supervision opportunitiesProfessional growth and advancement potentialFlexible scheduling opportunitiesMeaningful work impacting individuals and families throughout the community
