Job SummaryThis position is responsible for answering internal and external security operations calls, dispatching security officers, handling emergency situations, monitoring video screens, maintaining security logs, and ensuring preparedness for the main campus and regional clinics.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent.Work Experience1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher, or related role.CertificationsInternational Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.Good analytical skills.Excellent communication skills.Demonstrates good judgement.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong customer service skills.Proficient command of the English language, including clear and distinct speech.Job DutiesConsistently answer calls using standard company greeting.Solicit and document information needed from callers to determine level of security assistance, then dispatch officers to assist callers.Respond to all codes/notifications during emergency incidents.Other related duties as required.Physical and Environmental DemandsTypical sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Limited exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue and minimal occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
