Position Overview:

Celtic Marine and Logistics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager or General Manager to lead daily operations and drive performance across our brokerage division. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can manage multiple challenges simultaneously, make sound decisions under pressure, and foster a strong, communicative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage day-to-day brokerage operations
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7 operations personnel
• Handle personnel-related matters including performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution
• Maintain full responsibility for P&L performance, cost control, and profitability
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and customers
• Ensure efficient freight coverage and service execution across all lanes
• Make quick, accurate decisions in a fast-paced logistics environment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams
• Promote a culture of open communication with a clear open-door policy

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 8+ years experience in a freight brokerage firm
• Strong background in:
• Flatbed freight
• Dry van
• Liquid tank (chemicals)
• Steel, aluminum, and pipe
• Aggregates
• Proven leadership experience managing teams
• Demonstrated expertise in negotiation and problem-solving
• Strong understanding of logistics operations and market dynamics
• Experience managing P&L and operational performance metrics
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and high-pressure situations
