We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Secretary / Litigation Assistant to join a highly respected and fast-paced Louisiana plaintiff litigation practice. The ideal candidate must have prior experience specifically handling plaintiff-side car and trucking accident injury claims and be capable of managing files from intake through settlement or trial with minimal supervision. Required Experience To be considered, candidates must have: A minimum of 5 years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience Significant experience handling car wreck and trucking accident injury claims Strong working knowledge of: Bodily injury claims Property damage claims Medical records and treatment coordination Litigation procedures Settlement demands Federal and state court filings About the Role This position serves as a critical component of the litigation team. The Legal Secretary will act as a case manager, client liaison, litigation coordinator, and trial support professional while ensuring cases move efficiently and clients receive exceptional communication and support. Key Responsibilities Case Management & Litigation Support Manage litigation files from intake through settlement or trial Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates Maintain attorney calendars and litigation deadlines Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness files, and mediation materials Handle state and federal e-filing, including work within the Western District of Louisiana Client & Insurance Coordination Conduct client intake and gather accident-related documentation Open and manage bodily injury and property damage claims Communicate with adjusters, medical providers, opposing counsel, and clients Assist clients with rental vehicles, property damage, and insurance issues Follow up consistently with clients regarding treatment compliance and medical progress Medical & Settlement Support Schedule medical treatment appointments promptly Obtain and organize medical records, billing, and imaging Maintain medical chronologies and specials summaries Prepare settlement demands and supporting documentation Assist with lien negotiation and resolution Prepare settlement statements and disbursement sheets accounting for providers, experts, and expenses Technical & Administrative Expectations The ideal candidate should be proficient in: E-filing in Louisiana state and federal courts Microsoft Office Suite Legal case management software such as Clio, Filevine, Needles, Smart Advocate, or similar systems PDF organization, Bates stamping, OCR, and electronic file management Zoom depositions and virtual mediation coordination What We're Looking For Anticipates attorney needs proactively Keeps files organized and moving forward daily Understands urgency in injury litigation Communicates professionally and compassionately with clients Can independently prepare a file for mediation or trial Thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience A professional and supportive work environment Meaningful and impactful plaintiff-side litigation work Long-term career opportunity with a respected litigation practice Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
