About this Job DISTRICT 03 - U 170/ DESIGNJOB NUMBER: 03-144532-SURVSUP-04302026-LB - About this position:This position's function is directing the survey unit in acquiring and providing land surveying data for use in design and other projects. This position is located in the Design Section of the Department of Transportation and Development in District 03 and reports directly to the ADA of Engineering. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties with minimal or no supervision and be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent must be able to supervise and coordinate the work for multiple survey crews and be able to prioritize the tasks assigned to the crews based on the need and priorities of the design section and district. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules, and regulation as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals and directives.
