Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry (Medical-Surgical/Tele Unit)

Location: Lafayette, LA
Duration: 8 Weeks | Shift: Night (3×12 hrs, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Job Overview

• Provide patient care in a 24-bed MS/Telemetry unit with cardiac focus
• Manage adult and geriatric patients with medical and cardiac conditions
• Deliver care in a fast-paced unit with telemetry monitoring and med-surg overflow
• Support patients pre/post cardiac procedures and general medical conditions

Key Responsibilities

• Manage 1:6 patient ratio on nights
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer and titrate cardiac & vasoactive drips
• Provide care for post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and cardiac surgery patients
• Perform central line, PICC line, and IV access management
• Administer blood products and follow clinical protocols
• Support respiratory care including oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC (preferred)
• Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and renal care
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response situations
• Maintain documentation and adhere to hospital protocols

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry experience
• Certifications: BLS (required)
• Strong experience with:
  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
  • Cardiac patient care
  • IV therapy and line management
