POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Hangar Maintenance Manager. This position will work with or without supervision in performing aircraft airframe and engine inspections, repair and maintenance unassisted, on multiple types of aircraft as required by FAA regulations and PHI directives. Repair aircraft and related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and company directives. In addition must sign and certify on aircraft logs and other pertinent forms to the extent of repairs accomplished by himself. Perform simple clerical duties in preparing job related documentation. May provide direct supervision to unlicensed mechanics working on the aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform daily and periodic inspections and repair and maintenance of engines and airframe on one type of aircraft as required by FAA regulations and PHI directives.
  • Perform troubleshooting and perform appropriate repairs
  • Repairs to include removing and replacing parts, accessories, components and engines as necessary.
  • Draw replacement parts from supply requesting them by correct nomenclature and part number.
  • Ensure that new or serviceable parts provided by supply are approved replacements for the units removed from aircraft.
  • Ensure proper tagging and disposition of removed parts. Reinstall the new parts on aircraft and perform operational ground check if required.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks involving annotating work orders and aircraft forms indicating there on the nature and scope of work accomplished.
  • When assigned away from the repair station, logbook must be signed in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Responsible for all company assets. Exercise control of and responsibility for spare parts and equipment.
  • Keep tools and work area neat and orderly.
  • May provide direct supervision over unlicensed mechanics working on aircraft and sign off for work performed.
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess a current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good communication and written skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, knell, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
