Job Summary
As an IT Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle for complex technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet business objectives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, subject matter experts, IT analysts and developers, and vendors to ensure the success of a project.

Please note: This is a Washington State job, and candidates must reside within a reasonable distance of City Hall and be onsite in Bellevue at least one day per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Apply advanced project management concepts to plan, manage, and execute technology projects, from initiation to delivery, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Define project goals, scope, and deliverables, and create detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including developers, quality assurance, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and report project status to stakeholders, including identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving project issues.
- Manage project resources, including assigning tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring that project deadlines are met.
- Ensure that project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date including project plans, status reports, and project deliverables.
- Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies and promote best practices across the organization.
- Manage procurement activities including requests for proposals, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
- Ensure effective communications to end users and change management best practices.
- Set up and use effective project governance oversight to resolve issues, conflicts, and priorities that can block project success.
Qualifications Knowledge, skills, abilities, competencies - Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, risk management, and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executives.
- Competence in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies
- Effective negotiator and communicator.
Experience, education, and other requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 4 or more years of experience as an IT Project Manager with increasing levels of complexity or projects
- Project Management certification preferred (e.g. PMP, ScrumMaster)

Flexible/Hybrid Working: The City is implementing a flexible/hybrid work policy that will allow staff to work remotely and require at least one (1) day a week.
