2nd shift Supervisor- Pick/Pack, VAS and Promo Dept:

The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Pick & Pack and Value Added Services (VAS) departments at a clothing distribution facility. This role ensures efficient workflow, accuracy, productivity, and quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment. The supervisor leads and develops team members, monitors performance metrics, and collaborates cross-functionally to meet customer service and shipping deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of Pick & Pack and VAS teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate labor planning and staffing levels based on order volume, priorities, and production schedules.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and departmental KPIs such as units per hour (UPH), order accuracy, on-time shipping, and quality standards.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes engagement, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Lead daily start-up meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and safety messages.
Value Added Services (VAS) Oversight
  • Oversee VAS activities such as ticketing, labeling, re-bagging, kitting, quality inspections, and special customer requirements.
  • Ensure VAS processes meet client specifications and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Inventory teams to resolve discrepancies or product issues.
Quality & Safety
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S standards).
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and quality issues; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, and Management teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate production updates, staffing needs, and operational challenges to leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment (apparel experience preferred).
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, pick/pack processes, and VAS functions.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive results.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
