Key Responsibilities

• Gather and sort used and contaminated instruments and supplies for decontamination.
• Manually clean and operate sterilization equipment to remove contaminants and waste.
• Prepare, pack, and monitor sterilized supplies, ensuring they meet strict safety standards.
• Inspect instruments carefully to confirm proper sanitation and functionality.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to maintain operational efficiency.
• Organize and wrap instruments into trays for surgical and medical procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
• Manage supply inventory, reorder materials as needed, and monitor expiration dates.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CBSPD or IAHCSMM) is preferred.

Experience
