The Power Plant E&I Technician II is an experienced technician that installs, services, troubleshoots, and performs preventive and predictive maintenance functions on electric generation power plant equipment. This includes plant lighting equipment and receptacle circuits, motors, starters, motor control centers, programmable controllers, instrumentation, control panels, electrical control systems and transformers. Responsible for the interpretation of Electrical and Instrumentation practices, failure analysis, and repair of power plant electrical equipment and instrumentation.

Diagnoses complex Electrical and Instrumentation problems involved with the operation of a Power Plant. Recommends, directs and performs corrective action to maximize plant reliability and performance.
Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, overhauls and upgrades on Electrical and Instrumentation related equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime.
Uses the SAP system to provide, evaluate and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records to achieve an accurate historical account for future references.
Utilizes electrical and instrumentation knowledge, standards, procedures, and processes to provide recommendations for process improvements, as necessary.
Provide communication to their supervisor to provide status updates on project activities, and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs.
Be proactive in individual development, including training and performance plan development.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent with related technical training or apprenticeship
3-5+ years of related experience
Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job.
Strong knowledge of leading practices for their area of expertise
Planning and project management skills
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
