Inventory Control Specialist

Join our dynamic team and take charge of mastering inventory management practices that enhance our store's operational efficiency. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be pivotal in overseeing various inventory processes which include receiving, counting, ordering, and managing returns for both front end and pharmacy sections. Your expertise will champion On-Shelf Availability and ensure meticulous accuracy in planograms, thus enhancing our customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating and reviewing reports and system applications critical to maintaining accurate on-hand balances and pricing. Additionally, you will execute asset protection techniques and manage claims for discrepancies in inventory received and billed.

In some cases, you will be entrusted to open and close the store, ensuring a seamless operational flow in the absence of management while preparing the store for busy business days.

Customer Experience

  • Welcome customers with a friendly demeanor and assist them with their needs, ensuring that all queries are resolved for a remarkable shopping experience.
  • In your leadership role, model exceptional customer service practices, encouraging team members to provide proactive assistance and personalized service.

Operations

  • Expertly execute and guide team members on inventory management processes such as order creation, review, and receipt.
  • Swiftly scan in deliveries while vendors are present and ensure timely actions are taken for any discrepancies.
  • Oversee pharmacy operations to confirm that shipments match what is received, thus maintaining accuracy in product postings and reporting.
  • Conduct thorough On-Shelf Availability processes, ensuring that products are placed, disposed of, or returned efficiently before expiration.
  • Supervise pharmacy inventory activities and verify compliance with all regulations regarding pharmaceutical products.
  • Handle all pricing activities diligently, ensuring that price changes and markdowns are performed accurately.
  • Help maintain order accuracy by monitoring manual pharmacy orders for excesses and maintaining up-to-date inventory counts.
  • Ensure that all quarantine items are correctly processed and that designated areas are kept organized.
  • Assist in preparing for physical inventories and ensure all areas are audit-ready.
  • Support package delivery processes, including scanning and processing of returns.
  • When in a leadership role, manage point-of-sale transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Training & Personal Development

  • Engage in ongoing training for personal and professional growth, completing all required modules, including safety protocols.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pharmacy license as per state regulations.

Communications

  • Act as a bridge between management and team members, fostering a collaborative environment while ensuring transparency in communication.

Applicants should have a minimum of 6 months experience with Walgreens or 1 year in retail, fluency in English, and a willingness to work flexible hours. A positive performance review score and clean disciplinary record are required for internal candidates. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and experience in problem-solving will enhance your application. Prior roles such as shift lead or pharmacy technician will be beneficial.
