Control Room Operator

Responsible for ensuring cargo is transferred and processed safely, accurately, and efficiently in accordance with customer requirements. This includes preparation for loading, unloading, and completion of loading operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Production: Monitor control room and crews to achieve maximum productivity and minimize downtime. Oversee conveyors, critical safety devices, and material flow; take corrective action as needed.
• Quality: Ensure all work follows established procedures and that samples are collected accurately.
• Customer Relations: Maintain open communication to ensure all customer requirements are met.
• Weather Management: Monitor and manage weather impacts on cargo, production labor, and environmental conditions.
• Communication: Maintain continuous communication with management, supervisors, vessel crew, vessel agents, suppliers, and surveyors.
• Cargo Management: Ensure cargo weights and load order requirements are followed; collect samples as required.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a related role.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Work Environment:

• Exposure to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain).
• Work at varying elevations and moderate-to-high noise levels.
• Job site includes light to heavy equipment, vehicles, tools, and communication devices.

Physical Requirements:

• Activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety vests, gloves, masks/respirators (when necessary), steel toe boots and other required gear.
