The School of Architecture and Design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position requires a probationary period before tenure consideration, based on performance and potential. Candidates must have a strong academic record and an appropriate terminal degree. The typical teaching load per semester includes 6 credit hours of studio instruction and 3 credit hours of support course instruction. With final workload percentages for research, teaching, and service determined in the first semester of hire. As the largest school in the College of the Arts, the School of Architecture and Design offers nationally accredited programs in Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design. The ideal candidate will possess academic experience with a strong emphasis on studio instruction and studio pedagogy. The candidate should demonstrate an area/areas of expertise which may include, building systems, sustainable design principles, digital representation techniques, ecological design, and/or social equity. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching courses that guide students through foundational and intermediate stages of architectural education. Their role will be crucial in shaping the studio curriculum, ensuring that students gain a comprehensive and practical education in architecture.

These are to be used in alignment with the Program's vision for the next 5 years as it relates to this job description and the successful candidates research agenda.
