Overview
A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing various mechanical maintenance and repairs on offshore facilities. The role requires expertise in diesel engines, with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems on offshore platforms.
Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Cat Diesel and Detroit 71 & 53 series engines.
* Service, maintain, and test engine shutdown systems.
* Troubleshoot diesel engine issues and complete field repairs as needed.
* Apply knowledge of engine systems and engine controls to ensure proper function.
* Conduct in-frame overhauls and complete rebuilds when required.
* Repair pumps and other mechanical equipment as needed.
* Communicate daily status and production reports to customer representatives.
* Read and interpret drawings and technical manuals for repair guidance.
* Promote good housekeeping methods on the platform to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience offshore/in-land as a diesel engine mechanic.
* Willingness to work a call-out schedule.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Valid TWIC card.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to travel by helicopter or boat and use a swing rope.
