Job Summary

Supervised, entry-level position. Successful candidate will participate in the immediate support of campus-wide technology needs of the ULM Faculty/Staff and Students. This will cover both classroom and office desktop support, as well as support of IT Helpdesk staff in their efforts to resolve support requests. Will advise university personnel in the usage of site software in order to identify and resolve problems with vendor-supplied packages. Will advise users in effective use of resources.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for end-user support of desktop computer environments.
  • Platforms of support would include Windows and Macintosh environments.
  • Assist in software installation, maintenance, and user instruction.
  • Work with vendor and customer to identify specific requirements for desktop technology and facilitate those purchases.
  • Utilize Computer SOS system for tracking and logging service issues.
  • Works with users to determine the most effective use of resources to meet ULM's needs.
  • Perform hardware support for desktop computers and printers as directed by supervisor.
  • Monitors and evaluates end user systems for performance using technical skills attained through training and experience.
  • Works with other IT staff to provide a uniform and seamless computing environment for the ULM community.
  • Assist with A/V and Lab Coordinators for supporting respective technologies.
  • Maintains awareness of software offerings.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have Bachelor's degree or real-world field experience in IT support environment
  • Must have working TCP/IP knowledge, understanding of WIFI.
  • Experience with Windows desktops, MS Office and Apple OS platform knowledge recommended.
