Independent Contract Nail Tech/Hair Stylist

Avanti Senior Living is looking for a independent contract nail tech/hair stylist who thrives on creating beautiful styles to complement our resident attributes and loves interacting with others to provide an exceptional experience. Essential Functions:

• Consulting with residents on stylistic options for their nail/hair.
• Listening to residents needs to determine their preferences.
• Describing different hair care products and their benefits.
• Shampooing, cutting, coloring and highlighting hair.
• Offering manicure, pedicure, waxing and facial services.
• Performing scalp treatments.
• Building a personal relationship with residents to ensure return visits.
• Adhering to salon safety and cleanliness standards.
• Managing bookings and welcoming clients into the salon.
• Keeping updated on hairstyle trends and styling methods.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• High school graduation or GED completion.
• Licensing from a cosmetology school.
• Previous experience as a Hair Stylist or colorist.
• A wide pallet of styling and coloring techniques.
• Proficiency with hot irons, curlers and blow-dryers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal communication.
• Physical stamina.
• Creative mindset and a good eye for design.
• Independent consultant.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Cognitive Demands:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to use Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to use the Internet.

Environmental Adaptability:

• Works primarily indoor in a climate controlled setting
• Possible exposure to unpleasant odors
• Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual
• Continuous exposure to clients and/or family members who may be under stress
