Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services.

ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to the CEO for its New Iberia, LA location.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, this person performs diverse administrative and secretarial duties for the Chief Executive Officer and Key Administrative personnel. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, organization, time-management, and loyalty to the health center's mission.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (the statements below are to describe major elements of the position and is not an exhaustive list)

  • Prepare reports, letters and memos, and distribute
  • Assist CEO with various activities of a fiscal nature, including grant writing
  • Handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information according to the policies and procedures of the Center
  • Maintain appointment schedule of CEO and send reminders
  • Attend and prepare minutes of meetings, manage minute log, and distribute as needed
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence for the Center (fax and/or mail)
  • Meet and greet all Administrative visitors and escort them to the proper meeting areas
  • Edit and distribute Employee Handbook, and Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Prepare travel plans for Center staff and Board members in relation to Center business
  • Provide project support to the CFO and Director of Operations as needed
  • Provide personnel support to other areas of the Center as needed
  • Coordinate in-service and off-site education and training
  • Attend external meetings as assigned
  • Maintain administrative/clinical supply inventory
  • Perform other duties and assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare is required. A certification of training or proof of experience with a variety of software packages is helpful.

  1. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of experience in office management with at least two years of experience in filing, and general office duties. The candidate must have at least three years of personal computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and be technology-driven. A familiarity with medical billing and/or accounting software products is a plus to successfully meet job requirements. Previous medical office experience preferred, but not required.
  2. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner. The knowledge and ability to effectively utilize personal computers and various software packages are keys to be successful in fulfilling job responsibilities.
