Under the general guidance of the Controller, the senior accountant coordinates all internal reporting functions and executes daily financial operations through preparation of accurate financial transactions ensuring compliance of accounting and auditing regulations. Analysis and preparation of cross-company transactions and preparation of intercompany account reconciliations. Provide guidance to junior accounting/finance staff as necessary to ensure proper and accurate recording/authorization. Coordinate with others in company to resolve any accounting or financial discrepancies. Preparation and analysis of accounting transactions, including but not limited to, analyzing financial data, providing financial insight to internal and/or external users of financial data to ensure sound decision making for budgeting and forecasting. Assist in preparation of financial statements, audit, and other financial reporting, as necessary. *This particular role will be assigned to Accounts Receivable and Revenue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Gather and analyze pertinent data, generate appropriate worksheets & reports for preparation of financial statements and other reports as necessary.
- Prepare/maintain various financial reports, account reconciliations, and provide explanations for variances to internal/external departments as necessary.
- Ensures that all recurring, non-recurring, and intercompany journal entries have been accurately posted, including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as necessary
- Schedules and monitors reconciliations of all GL accounts, including intercompany accounts and allocation entries.
- Schedules and monitors the closing of all modules interfacing with the General Ledger
- Maintain chart of accounts and general ledger
- Monitor and maintain security access to financial reporting software.
- Research and resolve any finance, accounting, or tax compliance issues.
- Perform monthly tax calculations, preparation of tax account reconciliations, and provide financial information as necessary for tax returns.
- Calculate and analyze monthly aircraft cost allocations and fuel rates.
- Operate and monitor office equipment for the Finance Department
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments concerning the status of over 200 bases and locations to preserve and make accessible financial data.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- College degree with major in Accounting, BS in Accounting preferred
- 5+ years accounting experience preferred, specifically in Accounts Receivable and Revenue Accounting
- Integrity, Detail-Orientation, Analytical, and Time-efficiency preferred for accurate, consistent, and timely reporting.
- Ability to work independently on financial data and as a team for coordination of financial information.
