About this Job Mission:The Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology regulates and monitors the field of cosmetology in the state as necessary to assure the public health and welfare of its citizens. The agency assures that individuals receiving licenses meet the educational requirements established by law and that licensed professionals maintain the highest standard while providing services to the public. To maintain an active Board while fulfilling all legal requirements set by Louisiana law, over 12 meeting days each calendar year. To conduct all agency business professionally and efficiently in the issuance of licenses, student testing, and necessary inspections as established by state law. To collect all revenue from license fees or fines as established under state law, keeping accurate records thereof, and standing for audits and legislative compliance each fiscal year.
