This is a practical nurse training program, in which the incumbent is enrolled in an accredited practical nursing education program to learn to perform the administration of care to designated patients. The incumbent must attend classes and clinical education as prescribed by the education program and must maintain academic standing required to graduate from the program. When not in classes or clinicals, the incumbent will perform a variety of indirect or direct patient care duties as allowed. Incumbents must successfully pass the Licensed Practical Nursing board exam in the state of practice and will transition to a Licensed Practical Nurse position upon licensing.

Required High school diploma or equivalent and must be accepted into and actively attending an approved Practical Nurse Education program.

Preferred 1 year of direct patient care experience.
Required Student nursing license from appropriate state must be obtained prior to entering the educational program and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
