DescriptionWe are currently taking resumes/applications for EXPERIENCED LOCAL Blaster/Painters for the Lafayette, LA and surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following: Job Summary:Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment: Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.Applies paint or similar type coatings either by spraying, brushing, or rolling on to surfaces.Required Skills:Tank experience preferred, but not necessaryExperience with conventional and/or airless systemsAbility to set up and use conventional and/or airless systemsAbility to set up and use blast pot and/or nozzle equipmentJob Duties/Responsibilities:Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.Masks specified areas of objects not to be painted to protect from unwanted over-spray.Turn valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive material flowing through nozzle.Operate equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasives over surface of parts. Manually directs nozzle over area to be blasted.Loads parts on racks in enclosed rooms, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets.Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel.Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of partsManually directs nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.May set up ventilators; exhaust units, ladders, and scaffolding prior to blasting and/or paintingBlast and/or Paint in enclosed and open areas using proper protective clothing and equipment.Washes surfaces to remove grease, rust, scale, and dirt, using soap and water, or with other solvents.Cleans sand and debris from work area.Cleans, maintains, and repairs all blasting and/or painting equipment.May examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.Mange house keeping activities when requested.Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.Assist in waste disposal and recycling activitiesCleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environmentMeet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standardsReport safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediatelyPhysical Requirements:Must be comfortable working at different heightsMust be able to lift up to 50 LBSMust be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasksAbility to work in varying hot and cold environmentsAbility to work outdoors in harsh weather conditionsAbility to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gasesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditionsThe employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shockDocuments Required:Driver's License/Identification CardSocial Security Card/Birth CertificateMust have own PPE (hard hat, steel toes, gloves, & safety glasses.)Must be able to pass drug screen.Must have reliable transportation.Pay:$20.00 to $22.00/HrWeekly PayPay Schedule: Monday - SundaySchedule:10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)Duration of Job: Full-TimeTasks beyond those listed above will be asked of you, so a positive, can-do attitude is required.Qualified candidates can submit a resume or apply on the attached link: 1
