About this Job LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information and technology. The Office of Wildlife exists to provide wise stewardship of Louisiana's wildlife and associated habitats and increase wildlife conservation awareness. This position is responsible for the delivery of LDWF Shooting Sports programs, firearms safety and use trainings, and assists in operations and maintenance of a public shooting range in assigned area. Incumbent presents basic to advanced educational programs to the public on firearm skills, safety, and shooting sports including Archery in Louisiana Schools (ALAS). In addition, recruits, trains, and coordinates a network of volunteer shooting sports instructors and range safety officers to offer related public programs. Participates in statewide LDWF educational events. May be assigned supervisory duties over one WLF technician. Frequent night and weekend work is required.
