Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Echo Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Cardiac Sonographer Louisiana, LA 13 Weeks 40 Hours/week Day Shift- (9:30 AM - 6:00 PM), Monday - Friday Schedule: Day Shift: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday On-call: Up to 4-5 days per month Job Summary: This position provides individualized, direct patient care by performing a variety of sonographic procedures and tests, including but not limited to electrocardiograms, echocardiograms (2D/M Mode, Doppler, and Color Flow imaging), Exercise Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo. The Cardiac Sonographer compiles patient history and diagnostic information from examinations and presents preliminary sonographic findings. The role emphasizes delivering the highest quality personalized patient care while maintaining positive relationships with the healthcare team. Education Requirements: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Requirements: Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac ultrasound. Adult echo and TEE experience required. Pediatric echo and interventional TEE experience preferred. Credentialing Requirements: Required: Active RDCS registry through ARDMS Credentialing Agency or RCS registry through CCI Credentialing Agency. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic procedures and document findings accurately. Prepare, instruct, and educate patients on procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Effectively plan, organize, and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills. Adapt communication and care to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations. Assist attending physicians with interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance. Maintain professional development and required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials. Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with all healthcare regulations. Perform other related duties as required. Skills and Qualifications: General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and hemodynamics related to various disease states. Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion based on nationally published criteria. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure. Self-directed with the ability to function without direct supervision. Flexibility in work duties and hours, including the potential for nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
