Join us as a Human Resources Assistant in Lafayette, LA, where you'll support the team in maintaining smooth HR operations, from onboarding new hires to managing employee records-all while working in a fast-paced environment that values growth and initiative!

Pay & Schedule:

Pay Rate: $14 - $15 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday , 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp to Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Hire Coordination:
    • Prepare and process offer letters and position changes.
    • Conduct onboarding procedures, including background checks , I-9 verifications, and reference checks.
    • Lead new hire orientations both in-person and virtually, ensuring a smooth transition for incoming team members.
  • Employee Data Management:
    • Track and update employee information using Microsoft Excel.
    • Oversee the documentation and compliance of employee records.
  • Training and Development:
    • Lead and moderate employee training sessions via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
    • Organize travel arrangements for out-of-state employee training sessions.
  • Employee Relations and Support:
    • Respond to employee inquiries through email and phone, demonstrating strong conflict resolution skills.
    • Oversee and coordinate employee termination processes professionally and efficiently.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist the HR Manager and Director with various administrative tasks to support department operations.
    • Work independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Previous HR experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email communication, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and ask the right questions to get the job done .
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Confidence to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.
