Director of Business Development – Acadian Federal Resources

Acadian Companies, the parent company of Acadian Ambulance Service, Safety Management Systems, Executive Air Charter Services, Acadian Total Security, Acadian Health, National EMS Academy, and Acadian Federal Resources, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Development to develop and maintain business opportunities and drive revenue through the sale of services to State and Government organizations and contractors. These services include all of Acadian Companies deliverables including but not limited to medical, safety, security, staffing, equipment, and miscellaneous support for public and private clients. This opportunity offers a dynamic chance to identify partnerships and foster relationships within the state and federal government realm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify and generate leads for State and Federal government agencies, contractors, and subcontractors. Track relevant government contract opportunities using platforms like SAM.gov and other procurement portals.
  • Generate relationships and disaster response contracts at the federal level as a leading or contracting entity.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships and response agreements with state and local government entities within the organization's designated operational zones.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to target key government agencies and contractors. Identify potential partners, decision-makers, and opportunities that align with our offerings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with government agency representatives, prime contractors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for all business development activities.
  • Serve as an embedded liaison within government response infrastructure during disaster events to support coordination efforts and maximize organizational response capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create tailored proposals, RFP responses, and presentations. Assist in the preparation and submission of governmental bids, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Lead contract negotiations to secure agreements that are favorable to the company.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets by closing new business opportunities and expanding existing relationships. Monitor sales performance and report on metrics and progress to senior leadership.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, policy changes, and evolving government regulations. Provide insights to internal teams to ensure the company is positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Partner with new and current customers on existing business and future opportunities for additional services to ensure customer expectations are met

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar field required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business development and consultative sales roles
  • Emergency Response experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of federal and state government procurement processes and regulations
  • Proven track record of selling to State and Federal government organizations or contractors preferred
  • Ability to create and communicate compelling proposals and presentations tailored to government clients
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and government contracting platforms (SAM.gov, FPDS, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Flexibility to travel, including immediate/unscheduled business travel requirements, in some instances for extended days/weeks/months.
