Air Compliance Engineer

Description:

HLP Engineering, Inc is a professional engineering firm providing environmental compliance consulting services since 1994. Due to continued growth, our Air Compliance Group is seeking an experienced full-time Air Quality/Environmental Engineer in Broussard, LA. The Air Quality Engineer will be involved in air permitting and air regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate projects involving air emissions permitting of oil & gas production facilities.
  • Conduct air emissions calculations
  • Address/resolve compliance issues pertaining to State and Federal Regulations (testing, record keeping, reporting and control requirements)
  • Assist with state and federal (NSPS, NESHAP, MACT) regulatory compliance evaluations
  • Prepare major and minor air permit applications (New Source Review, Title V, and state permits)
  • Assist with the preparation of annual compliance reports (Title V Semi-Annual Monitoring reports, Annual Compliance Certifications, and emissions inventories).
  • Ability and willingness to travel in and around Louisiana to conduct site visits for data gathering and/or compliance evaluations (less than 10% travel)
  • Interact and cultivate/maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and HLP employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (including chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering)
  • Prior environmental consulting experience

    or air compliance experience

    preferred

· Knowledge of/Experience with oil & gas process and typical production equipment preferred

· EI or PE certification preferred

· Knowledge of various state and Federal air regulations

  • Knowledge of emission calculation methodologies
  • Candidate is expected to have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Candidate must be self-motivated
  • Candidate is expected to have excellent attention to detail and completeness
  • Candidate is expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate is expected to have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, internal or external
  • Possess a demonstrated ability to manage and allocate available resources in time sensitive situations
  • Determine necessary resources, time and materials of a project; plan and tracking project timelines
  • Possess the ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting
  • Interact and cultivate/maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and HLP employees
  • Ethical business practices
