General Job Description:

The Preschool Director is a key member of the Administrative Team, responsible for leading and managing the preschool in accordance with the board-approved mission, philosophy, policies, and budget. Responsibilities include creating policies, managing staff, overseeing daily operations, teaching as needed, managing budgets, and making admission decisions.

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years experience in a licensed early childhood facility, or
  • Six or more college credits in early childhood or related fields from an accredited institution, or
  • 60 hours of instruction in early childhood or related areas plus 12 hours in program administration, or
  • 18 months of experience with relevant credentials (N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P.), or
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood with 6 months experience, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood with 3 months experience.

Additional requirements include background checks, First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver's license, TB test, knowledge of child care regulations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to classical and Charlotte Mason educational philosophies.

Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

  • Promote the educational, moral, and social development of children.
  • Foster core character attributes within the school community.
  • Coordinate curriculum development and instructional leadership based on the classical model.
  • Lead and supervise staff, supporting professional growth and aligning with the school's philosophy.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, families, and administration.
  • Resolve behavioral and academic issues collaboratively with parents and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Develop policies, manage classroom and school operations, and oversee curriculum resources.
  • Lead enrollment, communication, and event planning efforts.
