The HSE Advisor position is responsible for providing health and safety support for Production Operations and Facilities Engineering & Construction projects for Oxy's ten Gulf of America (GOA) operating assets. The position reports to the HSE Manager for GOA Operations and Facilities Engineering & Construction (FEC) Safety. This position is located in The Woodlands, Texas.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant Health & Safety experience working in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Good knowledge of Gulf of America regulatory requirements
  • HSE auditing and contractor safety management skills
  • Experience with HSE programs and tracking HSE performance
  • Working knowledge of US safety regulations
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple teams across different disciplines
  • Presentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Support the HSE Leaders
  • Manage scheduling for Offshore contractor HSE Advisors and assist with onboarding activities
  • Provide HSE support for operations and projects such as incident reporting, investigations and case management, procedure interpretations and application, training for new initiatives
  • Develop, implement and review HSE procedures and programs
  • Conduct contractor audits and assessments
  • Provide HSE expertise on FLHAs, PHAs, HAZOPs, MOCs, JHAs, JSAs
  • Trending analysis for strengths and weaknesses within HSE practices
  • Shut In Flyers & Safety Campaign Data
  • New Campaign Assessments/Hazard Hunts/Safety Actions
  • Provide support for HSE Training Fairs

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety, Science, Engineering or other related field required.
  • 8+ years of relevant Health & Safety experience working in the Oil & Gas industry; including working in the Gulf of Mexico
