Job Summary

Responsible for all the operations of the community home under the general direction of the Program Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Directs the entire operations and programming of two (2) community homes.
  2. Oversees the work performance of all direct care staff.
  3. Develop staff schedule and publish.
  4. Collect, assimilate, approve, and submit all appropriate documentation for payroll processing.
  5. Complete annual performance evaluation.
  6. Ensure that all policies, rules, and regulations are followed and establish resolution including administration of discipline, corrections, and reinforcements as required.
  7. Conduct staff meetings and provide training when necessary.
  8. Responsible for the health and welfare of individual(s) served.
  9. Schedule all medical appointments.
  10. Advocate individual(s) served rights when appropriate.
  11. Schedule individual(s) served activities.
  12. Ensure fire and evacuation procedures are up to date and train accordingly.
  13. Enhance the quality of life for individual(s) served.
  14. Participate in the selection, placement, and training of new staff.
  15. Manages all care and maintenance of buildings and grounds for the community home.
  16. Schedule and ensure vehicle maintenance is completed.
  17. Responsible for the overall financial success of community home(s).
  18. Maintain finances within assigned budget.
  19. Manage assigned petty cash.
  20. Process all invoices and submit to home office promptly and on time.
  21. Keep overtime to a minimum.
  22. Ensure all house inventories (food, supplies, clothing) are complete and proper amounts are available as needed.
  23. Ensure all efforts are made to maintain responsible utility, repair, and transportation expenses.
  24. Ensure compliance with standards for annual survey.
  25. Prepare and submit all required documents in a timely manner (i.e., program notes, invoices/bills, state required documents, payroll, individual(s) served financial information).
  26. Oversee individual(s) served finances and ensure all policies and procedures are followed in the administration of such.
  27. Maintain relationship with the family of each individual(s) served work to ensure the best outcome.
  28. Serve as a role model for both individual(s) served and staff.
  29. Follow and enforce all policies and procedures of Evergreen.
  30. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience/Job Knowledge

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  2. At least two (2) years in related field and three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Must complete Med Aid certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain current certification.
  4. Ability to communicate well both in written and oral forms.
  5. Good organizational skills with eye for detail.
  6. Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment.
  7. Must be adaptable and have good decision-making skills.
  8. Working knowledge of basic computer applications, with the aptitude to learn additional software and programs.

Physical Requirements

  1. Constantly moves about to coordinate work.
  2. Routinely works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines.
  3. Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  4. Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.
  5. Constantly alert and observant during working hours.
  6. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities or a medical condition to perform the essential functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Will supervise a minimum of twelve (12) employees.

Special Requirements

  1. May be required to attend seminars or job-related training courses.
  2. Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  3. Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and with contacts from other agencies or entities.
  4. Must be able to prioritize work tasks.

Employment Variables

Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation. Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

Working Environment

May be required to work in a variety of settings and environments, both indoors and outdoors.
