IMC is currently hiring a Full Time EOC Coordinator for our Plant Operations department. Under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager, this person will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining critical elements of the Environment of Care/Life Safety Program to help ensure regulatory compliance and a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors across all IMC Facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications, including but not limited to Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimum supervision.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and multi-task effectively

EDUCATION:
  • Associates degree in Healthcare, Business or Engineering/ Fire Science Required

EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 3 years of EOC/Life Safety experience Required

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Coordinator will assist with identifyingand recommending strategies to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission,Federal, State, Local codes/regulations related to the Environment of Care/LifeSafety standards.
  • Takes a proactive approach in identifying EOC/Life Safety hazards that could cause harm to IMC staff, patients, and visitors and works with the Plant Operations Manager to develop mitigation strategies and monitor mitigation implementation outcomes.
  • This position may also haveresponsibility for elements of the Emergency Management and DisasterPreparedness programs across the health system.
  • Performs inspections andassessments necessary to maintain a safe environment such as environmentaltours, hazardous materials & waste audits, and Environment of Care tracers,etc.
  • Participates in the development andupdate of EOC/Life Safety Policies to maintain compliance with appropriateaccreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenancechecks on select Fire/Life Safety equipment, as assigned.
  • Coordinates and conducts Fire Drillsacross the health system while maintaining required documentation.
  • Maintains all data and documentationrelated to the Safety Committee program at IMC.
  • Maintains PM and Work Order Programfor departments while meeting payroll & productivity deadlines
  • Schedules and coordinates allSafety, Plant Operation, and Security meetings and minutes.
