The Barge Crew Member daily duties are to perform all activities as instructed by their supervisor. The crewman's job is to safely and efficiently perform the general manual labor tasks such as offloading and back loading of heavy equipment, tubular goods, dry pipe, rig goods, and supplies etc. between supply vessels, barges, tugs, crew boats, and trucks to complete the project in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Work as directed by the Barge Foreman, Operator or Oiler.
  • Rigging equipment and piping
  • Construction work and maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness of the barge and equipment.
  • Inspect & maintain condition of all rigging.
  • Loading and offloading of equipment & materials to/from barge.
  • Participate in the BBI Take 5 Program and utilize Stop Work Authority when necessary.
Competencies:
  • Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and descent multiple flights of stairs.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
