This position leads and supervises the daily operations of all personnel and processes within the department's appointment desks. The role includes planning, organizing, and supervising all operational functions, including staffing, staff development/training, implementation of policies and procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency, serve customers, and maintain high employee morale and patient satisfaction.EducationRequired: High School diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Bachelor's degree.Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.Work ExperienceRequired: Minimum 3 years of related healthcare/clinical experience with exhibited leadership or supervisory experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard use.Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.Excellent judgment in performing duties and conflict resolution.Strong delegation skills.Job DutiesWork closely with clinical colleagues, physicians, and coordinators to continually assess and improve the operational procedures of the unit.Supervise, train, and develop department staff.Utilize performance management information to monitor and measure the operational unit's team performance as well as individual performance of team members.Communicate internal controls, backups, and policy guidelines to department leaders to ensure proper testing before implementation of any new processes, minimizing associated risks.Develop unit-specific systems to promote an environment that emphasizes patient courtesy and responsive service delivery.Supervise and resolve patient complaints and service requests promptly and courteously.Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introducing oneself appropriately, adapting explanations of services or procedures, obtaining consent, and adjusting communication style.Perform other related duties as requested.Physical and Environmental DemandsPerform primarily sedentary work. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods, work a flexible schedule (including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on‑call availability).
