Warehouse Lead Dakota Premium Hardwoods (a Wrth Company)

Position Summary

Assist in the day-to-day warehouse operations of the Dakota Lafayette branch from open to close every day: from customer service to inventory control, workflow, safety, warehouse operation, culture building, employee management to cost management. The purpose of this position is to increase operational efficiency, customer experience and safety in the warehouse while assisting in the training and supervision of employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day warehouse operations of the Dakota Lafayette branch from open to close every day, including customer service, inventory control, workflow, safety, warehouse operation, culture building, employee management and cost management.
• Increase operational efficiency, customer experience and safety in the warehouse while assisting in the training and supervision of employees.
• Oversee warehouse management, organization and safety in a hands-on supervisory role.
• Work Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays; approximately 50 hours per week; supervise approximately 4-5 team members.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

• Must have prior management/supervisory experience.
• Prior experience in hardwood, lumber and/or plywood distribution is a necessity.
• Willingness to lead, learn and grow with ambition, proving to be an effective leader with a strong and dependable work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Leadership skills with a love for teaching and growing people.
• Competent computer skills (Experience with Agility Distribution software a plus but not required).
