SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the property's general condition in terms of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting. Additional functions include completing maintenance request work orders on a timely basis and participating in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.
This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building
- Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests
- Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence
- Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site
- Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action
- Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills/Abilities - HVAC certification preferred
- Residential/apartment maintenance experience required
- General residential maintenance skills required are A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing
- Must be able to work on-call maintenance shifts
Physical Requirements - Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds at variable distances often
- This position involves climbing ladders at high levels for maintenance and exterior A/C repairs
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined, limited spaces
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, position, or move heavy objects
- Ability to walk for long periods, including climbing flights of stairs in various weather conditions
